Which calculator do I need?

If you earn income that is not fully taxed through your employer's payroll — freelance fees, rental income, business profit or significant investment income — start with the provisional tax calculator to see what your two IRP6 payments will look like.

If you are a salaried employee comparing offers or checking a payslip, use the salary after tax calculator. If your package includes a company vehicle, run the company car tax calculator as well — the fringe benefit can add several thousand rand a month to your taxable income.

Buying goods from abroad? The import duty & VAT calculator estimates customs duty and the 15% VAT charged on the landed value, so there are no surprises at the courier.

Not sure whether you even need to file, or when? Try the "Am I a provisional taxpayer?" quiz, the document checklist, or read the tax guides.
